The University of Toronto offers the Distinguished Professor Award to a select number of faculty with highly distinguished accomplishments.

Over the past decade, international students have navigated a complex landscape shaped by neoliberal policies, says Emilda Thavaratnam, a PhD student in leadership and higher education. As Canada continues to welcome international students, it’s essential to uphold their rights and recognize their resiliency.

Through their creative efforts to improve education, this year’s six alumni winners – Justin Patrick, Maria Rogers, Shijing Xu, John Dias, Cindy Sinclair and Erin Finley – have been recognized for their excellence and leadership in teaching, research and advocacy.

ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø welcomes five new faculty of talented researchers, educators and colleagues including Dr. Brendan Andrade, Dr. Lydia Cao, Angela Easby, Dr. Lore/tta LeMaster, and Dr. Vidya Shah.

Member of the Bear Clan of the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, the PhD student is working to transform university teaching by integrating Indigenous perspectives.

New PhD Dr. Wraychel Gilmore, a seasoned child and youth advocate, will have her dissertation published by Dundurn Press in 2026.

Born in Tanzania and now rooted in Richmond Hill, Dr. Shelly Khushal recently completed her PhD at ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø, earning a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The IEN Indigenous Student Celebration and Award Ceremony celebrated graduates and students for their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements and community involvement.
