*Starting in Fall 2018, international ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø PhD students will pay domestic tuition rates (note that international students will still need to pay ). The tuition fee is applicable to all new and continuing PhD students but is not retroactive; meaning that PhD students will not receive a refund for tuition fees paid on sessions prior to September 2018. Please note, this new tuition structure does not apply to students in ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø's EdD, MT, MA and MEd programs of study.
All international students at the University of Toronto are required to enroll in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP). This mandatory health insurance plan is designed to cover eligible health services for international students while they study in Ontario. The minimum cost of a Master's program is based on the official full-time program length, which is listed in the . Completing a program faster than the specified program length will result in paying the balance of degree fee.

Some students are eligible to request to register without payment (fee deferral) on basis of Major Award, Graduate Assistantship, or Teaching Assistantship.

Student Loans
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a government financial aid program that assists eligible Ontario residents attending university through a combination of loans and grants. Students from outside Ontario who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons may be eligible for financial assistance from their provincial or territorial governments.
If you're a full-time student with previous OSAP loans and want to keep your loans in interest-free status without requesting more funding, you must submit a (CIFS) Form. It is a student's responsibility to report their U of T registration status to their loan lender(s).

The Professional Master’s Financial Aid program is a need-based support program for full-time students in professional master’s programs (MEd, Master of Teaching, or MA- Child Study and Education). The PMFA provides a non-repayable grant to help cover a portion of the unmet need between a student’s actual education costs and the costs recognized by their provincial/territorial government student financial aid program.
All students who would like to be considered for the PMFA for the 2025-26 Fall/Winter school year must complete and submit an application through the , along with any supporting documentation required as stated on the student’s application. We recommend applying by September 16, 2025.
Ontario students will be notified in the following months for any grant for which they may qualify: Fall/Winter students will be notified in November & March; Fall only students will be notified in November; Winter only students will be notified in March
Out-of-Province students will be notified in the following months for any grant for which they may qualify: Fall/Winter students will be notified in December & March; Fall only students will be notified in December; Winter only students will be notified in March.
