I am pleased to share the excellent news that Professor Maydianne Andrade has been appointed as the  effective January 1, 2026. On behalf of the entire ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Andrade on her appointment, a testament to her outstanding leadership and scholarly contributions.
 
Professor Andrade will continue to serve as ÃÈÃÃÉçÇøâ€™s Special Advisor to the Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through the Fall term, and we are grateful for her continued dedication to this important work as she prepares to transition to York University in January. Her year in residence with us has been generative and impactful, creating meaningful connections across our community and bringing her expertise as both a distinguished scholar and champion of inclusive practices to our shared initiatives.
 
I have greatly appreciated our discussions about research and practice in STEM and STEM education, and our community has benefited significantly from her insightful workshops, dialogue sessions, and presentations. Professor Andrade’s multidisciplinary expertise, collaborative approach, and deep commitment to equity and inclusion have made a lasting contribution to ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø. Her groundbreaking research and work as co-founder of the  and founder of  exemplifies the scholarly leadership that has earned her recognition as a University Professor at the University of Toronto.
 
While we will miss her presence at ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø, we will maintain the connections and collaborations that will extend beyond her time with us. We look forward to the opportunity to thank Professor Andrade for her many contributions at our ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø Convocation reception this Fall.
